Swimming lessons

This month, we enrolled Lily in swimming lessons twice a week at the local aquatic center. Although we have been lucky to have Grandma & Grandpa B's pool at the lake to give her great exposure to the water, she was ready to move on to the next step with formal training.

She has done a great job in learning new skills- like floating (back and front), using a kick board, and jumping in from the side.
Here she is practicing her "front float":

During the past two classes, they moved on to jumping off of the "high dive". I had a bit of anxiety about this big step, but did my best not to show it. She could barely climb the ladder because of her short legs, but somehow managed to get up there!

Here is the step-by-step from my cell phone (sorry about the poor quality- go figure I forgot my camera at home for this lesson!)

walking the plank :-)

not too sure if she is ready or not

and...she jumped!!

We are so proud of our Lily and how comfortable she has become in the water. Although, she still has a way to go before we are ready to remove the life jacket completely, she has made great strides in learning how to swim. Great job, little mermaid!

Royals Game

Last Saturday night, we went to Lily's first Royals game!! It was hot- 90 degrees!- and humid, but boy did we have fun.

We had friends and family there to join us as we ate ballpark food, toured the newly remodeled stadium (including a kids' play area), and oh yeah...watched the game!

Our original tickets ended up being in a congested area, so we moved a few sections over to spread out a bit so the kids could run around.

Lily had a blast hanging out with her cousins Maryanna and Powell (who turned 4 that day!), and friends Holly and Wyatt.

Looking forward to the next game!
