Christmas...part III

A couple of days after Christmas, Grandma & Grandpa L. arrived! The kids had not seen them since our summer trip, so this was a special treat. We enjoyed our time together.

Enjoy some pictures of our activities...

While we were busy unwrapping gifts and drinking hot cocoa, Grandma and Grandpa L. were in route to our house! I downloaded the iPhone tracker app so we could have an hourly update of their progress! The kids loved pulling out the globe to see their location. Their favorite phrase was "where is Grandma & Grandpa Claus now?" :)
They arrived! And without a moment to breathe, the kids were opening gifts!

Grandma trying out her new blender!
Grandma and Grandpa bought the kids Lego sets...then helped assemble! Yay for us parents!

Cousins Allison, Rob, and baby Josiah were visiting Rob's family in Iowa (after flying in from New Zealand!) so we coordinated a time to meet up to see all of them. And finally meet Josiah!
 Such a cutie!
We had to make at trip to Grandma's favorite restaurant- Texas Roadhouse!
 Lots of quality time
Grandpa had quite the project with Jackson's Lego set!
 Happy New Year 2015!!!

A final trip to PlowBoys for some burnt ends!

What a fun visit with Grandma & Grandpa L.!

Christmas...part II

We spent Christmas Eve this year with our Bolinger family. As always, it was a huge seafood feast of shrimp & crablegs. And it was a blast! We were thankful to have Great Grandpa Bolinger with us this year as well!

Enjoy some pictures of the festivities...

We had to cancel our "baking day" this year due to illness, so we frosted our cookies and took them over for Christmas Eve dessert

Christmas...part 1

Well, I've gotten behind in my blogging again. This is probably due to the fact that we had a very busy December with lots of activities and family in town to visit! This was our year home for Christmas so it was great that we were able to see the Fiala's and Grandma/Grandpa L., in addition to our Bolinger family.

Our first visitors, the Fiala's, came the weekend before Christmas. I'm always trying to find different (new) activities to try every time they come...however KC is only so big! :) Now that the kids are getting older, I threw out the idea of ice skating. Wow! Little did we know how big of a hit this would turn out to be! Before long, we will have our own cousin ice hockey team! Enjoy some pictures of the fun...
No sooner did Aunt Sarah arrive, "Frozen" Jamberry nails were being applied! Lily loved her new blue nails :)

Lunch (& frozen custard) at Culver's

Fun at Union Station visiting the model train exhibit

The "bigger" kids almost exceeded the height requirement, so they were by far the tallest kids on the "kiddie train" :)

Who says moms can't have a little fun too? Science City gift shop :)

How many crazies can you fit in a Honda Pilot?! On our way to Crown Center for an ice skating adventure!

A little excited and nervous to get on the ice!

No wonder I was sore the next day!
 Jackson's favorite part- the Zamboni!
About an hour in, Sam & Lily were on their own!

On our way home from ice skating, we stopped by the Magic Tree in Lees Summit!
Lots of quality cousin time :)
And then there was ice skating adventure, part II! The kids decided they wanted to try it out again...this time at a different ice rink that was a bit less crowded. They all did so great! Even Jackson didn't need my assistance!
We had such a great time with our Fiala family and are thankful they were able to "stop off" before heading to Chicago.
