Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkin Carving

Well...we did not choose the most ideal day to go to the pumpkin patch. It was freezing! About 45 degrees and a bit windy. Not fun. So....we made the best of it, but we did not stay as long as I would have liked to. Here are some shots of our time at Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch!

Now, onto carving our pumpkin. Lily designed what type of eyes, nose, and mouth she wanted and Daddy created it. She thought the gooey mess inside the pumpkin was hilarious and was laughing the whole time. We had a good time....(p.s. sorry that I am in my robe! a little embarrassing)

It's Fall!

Here are some shots of Lily "helping" Daddy pick up the leaves....(hee, hee :)
Enjoy!

My Family

Lily drew this during a school art project and it has been on display at daycare all month- I am thrilled to finally have it home to show you all.

I just love her descriptions of Justin and I....."Mommy likes earrings!" (notice the HUGE earrings)..."Daddy likes shirts!" (this one really made us laugh).

She also included Sadie, her dog food (which she helps to serve every day), Grandma, and Papa.

In looking at the other kids' pictures of the class that were on display, there was only one other picture that was as descriptive as Lily's....her friend Izzy. How am I not surprised?! I bet the two of them just chatter it up all day.

Very Scary!

That has been the theme of Lily's imagination lately...."very scary". Conveniently, it's also Halloween season so that has added to the scariness.

Grandma B. shared a story that when she picked Lily up from daycare one day, she had a book waiting for her to read during her car ride. As I remember the story, Lily was flipping the pages and saying "Grandma, I can't believe you got me such a scary story!"

And now that it's Halloween, we have been immersed in the world of all things scary. Lily had some pajamas given to her that are adorable- white with little pumpkins, bats, spiders, and candy corn on them (see below). Since there is such a shelf-life for these fabulous seasonal pajamas, I have been encouraging her quite a bit to wear them before the holiday is over! Every time, her response has been...."but they are SO SCARY Mommy!" So finally last night, I convinced her to put them on and we would "scare" Daddy with them! It worked and she had a blast running around scaring us.
