This morning we had a Mommy & Me day with MOPS to Burr Oak Woods Nature Center. We went here last year on a field trip with Lily's preschool and had a fun time. Jackson LOVED it! There were all sorts of animals for him to look at- fish, snakes, frogs, and a turtle. He also got to run around and play in some of the exhibits. It was fun to have a little one-on-one time.

Valentine's Day
We had a fun time this year preparing for Valentine's Day. I got some great ideas off of Pinterest and made some fun little mailboxes with their initials and names on them to display until the holiday arrived. I flipped up the flags the morning of Valentine's Day and the kids got to open them up and see what was inside! Lily loved it.
We also handmade Lily's Valentines for preschool this year. We made lollipop flowers with Proverbs 17:17 printed on them. You can't see very well in the picture, but there were little leaves glued underneath with Lily's name. They turned out very cute!

Snow Day!
Today, Feb. 13th, is our first "snow day" of the season! We have been waiting a long time for this so we are taking full advantage. It is currently after lunch and we are all still in our jammies :-) The kids are having a great time too. See for yourself... :-)

It has begun....
In this particular case, it is evident that "the apple does not fall far from the tree". My poor boy has an official hairstylist...like it or not. Lily has started asking to "do Jack's hair". He seems to be a willing participant, but no telling how long that will last.

Pre-K Progress Report
Yesterday, we received our first-ever progress report for Lily! This was one of those exciting "mom" moments for me. I know this is only Preschool, but there is just something 'official' about a progress report. And, although I was fairly sure she would receive good marks, I will admit there was a part of me that was nervous. I was relieved and pleased to see that approximately 99.9% of the report was graded a "G" for "Good Progress"! However the one skill that was notated a "W" for "Working on Skill" caught my eye. And when I read what it was, I had a chuckle. "I seek only my share of teacher's attention". Now THAT is an area I agree Lily needs a little work. She is somewhat of a teacher's pet. (and Mommy's pet, and Daddy's pet, and Grandma's pet....the list goes on!)
Great job Lily!!! Your Daddy and I are VERY proud of your accomplishments so far this year!
