November 2016

In November, we ended a great soccer season for Jackson, had some fun activities with school and friends, Thanksgiving, and picked out our Christmas tree!
Enjoy some highlights from this month:

Jackson is a soccer stud. This boy loves to RUN and he is learning great ball skills too! He was named team captain and we could not be prouder. Great work, buddy!

Jackson's kindergarten class when to the Puppetry Arts Institute and made their own puppet!
First school bus ride...he loved it!

Lily made "blessing bags" in her God's Girl Bible study group  in the season of thanksgiving. She gave them to her Sunday School teacher and her teacher at school.
Dad received some free tickets to see a magic show, so Lily enjoyed a father/daughter night with her friend Georgia and her dad.

What is becoming a fun tradition for our family, we had an opportunity to pick out another real Christmas tree! Love this tradition and how my house smells with the tree in it!

Who can resist a cutie in Chewbacca jammies having cereal?! Thank you Aunts Sarah & Ashley!

New tradition this year! Longview Lake has an annual drive-thru Christmas light display that opens up the day after Thanksgiving. The night before opening up to the public, they have a bike ride. Some friends asked us to join them and what a blast! We all geared up and layered up (it was a bit chilly) and headed out. Jackson had the luxury of riding in the bike trailer, so Dad got a extra workout! There were bikes with lights, music, and bikers wearing costumes! We plan to up our game next year and fancy up our bikes with lights and decor.

Jackson received a Great Character award by his teacher for being a good helper to his friends in class. So very proud of him!

And, there was Thanksgiving at Grandma B.'s house! Aunts Sarah & Ashley brought their cotton candy machine. To say it was a hit is an understatement. Look at those faces!

Bolinger/Kendrick ladies!

Lily's first deer- October 2017

This is a post that is best told in person since Lily and Dad have etched this story, play-by-play, in their minds. And if I'm being honest, I would not do the story justice by attempting to retell it.
Ever since Lily was born, Dad has said that he hoped to have this opportunity with her (& later Jackson too) one day. Hunting and fishing are his passions and what a joy to share that passion with his little girl. Lily was very enthusiastic to have this special weekend during youth hunting season with her Dad. And, according to Dad, she was a great shot!
What a fun and memorable weekend for the two of them.

October 2016

Pretending this was not almost 6 months ago....time to catch up!

Here are some highlights of the activities we did in October:

Lily has been a part of an on-going small group Bible study called "God's girl" led by my friend, Nicole. This specific week, another friend of mine, Katie, came to speak to the girls about how to make time for and read God's word daily. It was such a great lesson...they all are. So thankful for these girls and Nicole.
Fall party! I was room mom this year so I didn't get as many pictures as I usually do :(
Got to peek in on little man's Fall party too. He seemed to be having a good time!

The kids' got their first deer tag for deer season! Right of passage :)
Lily ran the Kids Marathon again this year and did great with her Running Club friends!

We participated in the KC Timber Challenge (obstacle course and mud run) with some friends last Fall. We all had a blast and look forward to doing it again next year.

Jackson and I had a mommy/son day at the pumpkin patch while big sister was hunting. We met up with his preschool friend, Isabella, and had a great time!

At Aunt Sarah's house celebrating my birthday (surprise!). This was such a great shot, I couldn't resist!
