Jackson is 2!

I can't believe Mr. Action Jackson is 2!  This has been quite a year of activity...to say the least.  Some days I think "We Survived!".  In the most endearing way, of course.  I love our little ball of energy and it surprises me what he is capable of!  (The good and the not so good.)  With all of the physical energy he has, I have been most surprised with his love of books and reading.  He is learning the letters of the alphabet, his shapes, to count to 10, and his colors!  He is quite the sponge!  It also helps that he has an older sister that will take the opportunity to "teach" him whenever possible.  He has begun saying 2-3 word phrases, which has helped us communicate a lot better.  He has turned into quite the chatterbox too!
He also has gotten in to, broken, dumped out, etc. things that I never thought possible!  Let's just say his gross and fine motor skills are not lacking either. :)
All kidding aside, Jackson is a delight in our lives.  He never fails to greet someone in the grocery store with a "HI!" (and sometimes more than once if they don't acknowledge him), he always gives his big sister a hug in the morning, and he runs to his Daddy every day when he gets home from work as if he hasn't seen him in months!  And Mommy loves her hugs, kisses, and endless cuddle time too.
Enjoy his year in review!

Star of the Week!

Lily was chosen as her Kindergarten class' first "Star of the Week"!  I received an email from her teacher, Miss Gosnell, last Friday notifying me of the exciting news!  When I picked Lily up, I had to hear ALL about it!  I asked her why she was chosen first and she replied, "Because I have had good behavior in class and I am following the playground rules". Although it is not completely a shock to us that she is following rules at school, we are overjoyed that she was chosen as the first "Star"!

She brought home a poster for us to decorate, or as Miss Gosnell put it, "jazz it up".  And boy, did we!  We got out the jewels, glitter glue, stickers, etc. and had great girl time being crafty.  It is on display on the puppet theater in the classroom for the week (above).  As part of her new role for the week, she is to help out the teacher with extra projects, walk kids to the nurse or other rooms, and the best one...she gets to invite 3 of her friends on Friday to eat lunch with Miss Gosnell in her room!  She is super excited about that one.

We are so proud of you, Lily.  You are setting a great example to your classmates by following the rules, having good behavior, and a good attitude!  Keep up the great work, our Big Star!
